Town Meeting members authorized the appropriation of $318,000 from sewer retained earnings under Special Town Meeting Article 1 to fund the design of new HVAC systems for the town’s wastewater treatment plant. Wastewater Superintendent Doug Bernard informed the meeting that the current infrastructure has reached the end of its functional life.
The HVAC system is just as old as original to the treatment plant... it's just beyond repair at this point,
Bernard said, noting the equipment is roughly 25 years old. The vote to approve the funding was nearly unanimous, reflecting ongoing town efforts to address aging infrastructure at the facility.
Motion: To appropriate $318,000.
