Annual Town Meeting Article 28 proposes using Community Preservation Act (CPA) funds for the digitization of approximately 300 rolls of microfilm containing historical records of the Old Colony Memorial newspaper. The project is intended to preserve the town’s journalistic and historical record in a digital format for public access.

The Advisory & Finance Committee recommended the article for approval by a vote of 11-1-0. The funding will come from the CPA historic preservation reserve, continuing the town’s investment in digital archiving of its long history.

Motion: Move to use historic preservation funds for the digitization of approximately 300 rolls of 35mm microfilm.
